Other Galveston Cruise Port Parking Options

The Port of Galveston is one of the busiest cruise ports in the United States. With the ever-increasing interest in cruising, the number of travelers visiting the port has gone up in recent years, bringing with it a whole range of parking problems. Thankfully, there are a whole host of parking solutions at the port, ranging from short-term solutions to long-term deals and more.

Other Short-Term Options

The Cruise Ship Terminal and Cruise Ship Parking Lots both offer parking for around $25 for each full day. The cost is cumulative, so if you’re planning a longer cruise, you could end up paying quite a bit in parking costs. This is the most expensive option, but it does offer a bit more convenience if you’re willing to pay the price. That said, Port of Galveston is the best option when seeking out a combination of convenience, security/safety, and affordability.

Park & Cruise Lot

This lot is located a few miles from the cruise terminal and provides shuttle service to and from the terminal. The Park & Cruise lot is more affordable than parking at the cruise terminal, but does require you to wait for a shuttle which isn’t always on time and adds an extra level of inconvenience to the mix.

Public Parking

Galveston has a variety of public parking lots located throughout the city. These lots are usually the most affordable option, but they aren’t always secure. Make sure to read the signs carefully to make sure that your vehicle is allowed to be parked in the lot.

Other Long-Term Options

The best option for long-term parking is Port of Galveston, but we always encourage shopping around, knowing we have a lot more to offer and at a price that’ll leave your wallet smiling as wide as you are.

With that in mind, there’s the Premiere Parking Lot, which is open from 7am until midnight seven days a week. The lot offers weekly parking for around $50.

The Galveston Airport offers car parking for up to seven days at a total cost of $51, but you’ll lose the convenience of being close to the port, requiring a longer shuttle service or ride-share to get where you need to be.

Galveston’s cruise port has a wide variety of parking options to choose from. Where you decide to park will largely depend on your budget and the length of your cruise.

*It's important to note that these rates are subject to change, so it's a good idea to check the port's website or call the parking hotline for the most up-to-date rates.

Tips for Cruisers

No matter which option you choose, it’s important to be aware of a few simple tips:

1. Make sure to lock your vehicle and keep your valuables out of sight.

2. If you’re leaving your car in a public lot, you may want to consider purchasing some additional coverage such as a security system or additional insurance.

3. Be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to travel to the cruise terminal. Depending on traffic, it can take at least 30 minutes to make the trip to the port.

4. If you’re parking in a long-term lot, make sure to check the lot’s hours. Some lots may charge an additional fee for overstaying the time limit.

5. Keep your parking receipt handy in case you have any questions or need to contact the lot.

Choosing the right parking option for your Galveston cruise will help ensure a stress-free and enjoyable experience. With these tips and parking options in mind, you’ll be able to find a secure and affordable spot and make the most of your cruise getaway!
